Consultant Radiologist Dr. Anwar Padhani MB BS FRCP FRCR
An internationally recognised oncological MRI radiologist who is committed to clinical research using functional imaging. He has edited the national recommendations on the use of CT/MRI in the management of cancer patients and has co-edited the book “Advances in Oncologic Imaging Techniques”. He has 13 years of experience reporting MRI scans and has been at the centre for 7 years.

Linda Culver DCR(R)

Our MRI Superintendent has been qualified for 25 years and has 18 years' experience in MRI. After qualifying she worked in Plymouth General Hospitals for 5 years before starting at the Paul Strickland Scanner Centre. She has taken the MRI unit through several changes of scanner and seen MRI mature from a research tool to a routine clinical examination method for almost all parts of the body. She lectures on degree courses and keeps up-to-date with new developments.

Ken Prim B.Sc.

Ken began training for his B.Sc. in Diagnostic Radiography in September 1997. From the beginning of his training he developed a keen interest in MRI. In 2000 he qualified from Portsmouth University. His first job was at the Royal Free Hospital in Hampstead. He subsequently joined the Scanner Centre in the spring of 2002. After 2 years he was promoted to the post of Deputy Superintendent of MRI. He is currently in the latter stages of reading his M.Sc. in MRI. He enjoys the exceptional teaching and learning opportunities offered by the Centre, with its wide and varied workload, utilising the latest techniques and equipment.

Superintendent Research MRI Radiographer
James Stirling DCR(R), M.Sc.

James gained his professional qualification in 1985. His first position was at St. Mary's in Paddington. After 3 years' experience in general radiography he moved to Queens Square to gain experience in neurology. Three years later he spent a year in Jersey before taking up a position in the Harley Street Scanning Centre. After a year he became the practice manager. In 1995 a position for practice manager at Holly House MRI unit became available. He stayed there until moving to Paul Strickland Scanner Centre in 1997. He completed his M.Sc. in MRI in 2003.
